BIRMINGHAM, AL – January 3, 2011 – IT systems integrator, NWN Corporation announced the
acquisition of ComFrame, an international application development firm with offices in Birmingham,
Alabama, and Nashville, Tennessee and Beijing, China.
ComFrame, a 12 year old Microsoft National Systems Integrator and Gold Certified Partner, has
distinguished itself by providing custom development solutions for more than 300 of the Southeast's
largest, most progressive companies across banking and finance, construction, energy and utilities,
insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, software development and other industries. ComFrame and NWN
are two of only 37 nationally managed Microsoft system integrators.
With the China-based off-shoring capabilities, the deal provides NWN with the expertise to provide the
kind of application development and deployment services that power bigger global systems integrators.
Now NWN has all the pieces from strategic consulting to application development and deployment, and
24x7 support to offer its customers a complete solution to their business problems.
The acquisition makes NWN one of the premier companies providing a full range of solutions, including
application development services, to midmarket commercial and public sector customers. "We believe
that our customer-centric approach is going to have tremendous appeal in those markets," said NWN
CEO Mont Phelps. "We have the capabilities and resources to compete with anybody in those markets.
We can go in and sit down with CEOs and CIOs and talk about where they are going with their business
strategy and then be able to design, implement and support the systems they need."
ComFrame CEO Marc Guthrie commented, “ComFrame has built a model that allows us to provide high
value solutions based services to our clients across the Southeast. We are looking forward to the
opportunity to expand this offering throughout the NWN customer base. NWNs customer first
philosophy matches with ours and that was a major driver for getting this done. After meeting with the
NWN management team it was clear to me that ComFrame’s current customers would continue to
receive excellent service and benefit from the additional corporate offerings.”
The acquisition officially closed at 11:59 p.m. EST on New Year's Eve.
