The ComFrame solution architect must have:

• Experience applying software development and portal platform solutions to facilitate information integration and data management strategies
• Experience leveraging a variety of technologies, tools and methods to develop enterprise grade solutions and applications
• An understanding of the breadth of technologies that can be employed to collaborate within and with trading parties outside the company firewall
• An appreciation for complex application considerations, including relational database persistence, distributed computing, web services and network/security concerns
• An appreciation of technical architectural components and understanding of hardware compatibility and capacity as it applies to the delivered systems
• Proven leadership and communication skills.

The ComFrame solution architect will:

• Provide strategic alignment of technology solutions to meet business strategy
• Analyze, architect, design and oversee the development/implementation of enterprise-grade software solutions
• Lead by example and mentor teams of two to ten technologists in producing production-ready software
• Deliver successful large and enterprise-size client solutions
• Provide clients with experience-based consultative opinions regarding flexible and scalable architectures

• Proven ability to architect medium to large sized enterprise solution projects and mitigate associated risks
• Efficiently produces high quality software products and lead the team to do the same
• Analyzes, designs, and constructs software solutions for the client’s needs, under the direction of an architect or independently
• Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally
• Proficiency with Object-Oriented Languages such as Java and/ or .Net
• Proven understanding of Object-oriented design concepts, and Design Patterns
• Broad experience with software applications throughout the full development lifecycle
• Proven understanding of ComFrame's delivery methodologies and disciplines
• Responsible for execution of unit tests
• Participate and sometimes lead requirements gathering and definition
• Responsible for documentation of all work by themselves and their team
• Proven ability to estimate a project with a very good degree of accuracy
• Coordinates work efforts of team with Project Manager
• Able to work at client sites and interact with all parties in a professional manner
• Acquire and maintain certifications in relevant technologies
• Actively participate and present in user group meetings and programs
• Lead and facilitate Communities of Practice (COP) meetings
• Delivers well written proposals and documentation
• Leads Brown-bag sessions
• Is a technical mentor to team members
• Performs duties of Software Engineer or Business Analyst as needed
• Other duties as may be assigned to meet the exigencies of business and clients’ needs

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of the degree

• Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS)
• Operational Systems
• n-Tier Application Solutions
• Software Development Life-Cycle Methodologies (i.e., USDP, RUP, Agile)
• Application Life-Cycle Management Tools
• Testing Strategies and Change Management

• 6 to 20 years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years experience developing commercial grade Java /J2EE or .NET software in a team environment is a plus
• 3+ years experience in object-oriented analysis and design, multi-tiered solutions, web technology and standard design patterns is a plus
• 2+ years experience using XML in a solution (Schemas, XSL, and XSLT)
• Demonstrated experience developing web-based and thick client solutions
• Proficient in Unified Modeling Language
• Experience utilizing tools for source control, continuous integration, unit testing and testing strategies
• Proven software development experience in SQL
• Consulting experience with solution stakeholders and end users

• Good human relations abilities
• Able to organize, coordinate, and direct small project teams
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities
• Proven analytical and technical skills
• Appreciation of hardware and software options for solution development
